(Introduction & Background)
(Key Architecture & Core Operations)
(Phonon Phase Mapping)
(Base-13 Modulo Perturbation & Projection Loss)
③ Von Neumann Extractor (디바이아싱 디코더)
(Cryptographic Post-Processing)
(Algorithm Source Code)

1. Introduction & Background
As quantum computing technology advances rapidly, traditional public-key cryptography faces unprecedented security challenges. To fundamentally address this threat, Quantum Random Number Generators (QRNGs)—which leverage the intrinsic unpredictability of quantum physical phenomena—have emerged as a core technology for next-generation cryptographic architectures.
In this project, we designed and implemented an innovative software pipeline for a QRNG system. Moving beyond conventional 2-dimensional qubits, our system utilizes a 28-dimensional phonon qudit state space derived from isotope-purified silicon-28 (28Si) and graphene lattice dynamics, integrated with base-13 (mod 13) matrix perturbation operators. Furthermore, we conducted a rigorous statistical evaluation using the NIST SP 800-22 test suite over a cumulative scale of 1.85 Gbit (1,850,000,000 bits).
2. Key Architecture & Algorithmic Design
- 28-Dimensional Phonon Qudit State Space Simulation : Unlike traditional 2-level quantum states, our architecture expands the state space to 28 dimensions by simulating acoustic and optical phonon mode interactions within purified 28Si lattice structures. This high-dimensional qudit approach significantly enhances the intrinsic entropy density per state measurement.
- Base-13 Modulo Perturbation & Projection Loss Extraction : To introduce structural non-linearity and eliminate potential physical bias, a base-13 (mod 13) algebraic operator is applied during state evolution. A 14-dimensional projection loss vector is then extracted, creating an algebraic collapse process that maximizes unpredictable entropy generation.
- Von Neumann Extractor (Debiasing Decoder) : Strips initial statistical skewness and balances bit distributions to ensure unbiased raw entropy input.
- SHA-256 Bit Extraction & Compression : Processes debiased bit streams through cryptographic hash functions (SHA-256 / HKDF), uniformly spreading entropy into unbiased, cryptographic-grade binary random streams.
3. NIST SP 800-22 Statistical Verification Results
To evaluate statistical randomness, batch simulations were executed across independent samples (generating 1,000,000 bits per sample). Following an initial 1,000-run batch, an additional 850 runs were successfully completed, achieving a cumulative total of 1,850 runs (1.85 Gbit / 1,850 Million Bits).
Under standard NIST SP 800-22 criteria with a significance level of 𝞪 = 0.01, all key statistical tests successfully passed within the theoretical acceptance range (> 98.0%) :
1,000 run
- Monobit Test : 99.3% Pass Rate
- Frequency Test within a Block (Block Test) : 99.1% Pass Rate
- Runs Test : 99.7% Pass Rate
- Test for the Longest Run of Ones in a Block : 99.4% Pass Rate
- Monobit Test : 99.35% Pass Rate
- Frequency Test within a Block (Block Test) : 99.08% Pass Rate
- Runs Test : 99.35% Pass Rate
- Test for the Longest Run of Ones in a Block : 99.24% Pass Rate
Empirical results confirm that the generated binary sequence exhibits exceptional statistical uniformity, zero predictability, and high entropy density, fully satisfying the requirements for cryptographic-grade quantum randomness.
4. Discussion & Open Call for Open Source / H/W Implementation
- Hypothesis Validation : Through 1.85 Gbit testing in a Python environment, we firmly verified that the randomness hypothesis of our 28-dimensional phonon qudit state simulation and base-13 perturbation algorithm pipeline is statistically valid.
- Open Call for Future Research : Due to current environment and resource constraints, directly implementing and accelerating this pipeline via C/C++ or Verilog/VHDL-based FPGA/ASIC hardware circuits for real-time Gbps-level performance validation poses practical challenges. Therefore, we open-source this verified idea and algorithm. We welcome and encourage researchers and developers with expertise in hardware/high-performance software implementation to build upon this mechanism, advancing it into next-generation real-time H/W engines or collaborative open-source projects.
